Amazing 3D Workflow

DeckLink HD Extreme 3D is ready for 3D workflow using both interleaved and dual stream capture and playback. Interleaved is where the left and right eye are muxed as fields so you can edit using standard editing software. Dual steam is where DeckLink HD Extreme 3D uses the dual link SDI connections to capture and playback two streams for left and right eye, and records them into two separate media files. Dual stream 3D is higher quality because each eye is full resolution, but less compatible with current editing software.

Great product, but poor software support

I'd bought this card because I'd been a little disappointed with my old AJA card. When upgrading to HD I decided to give the decklink a go. The card itself is great, but the problem comes in with the software support. For some reason, their latest drivers no longer support Fusion, my main compositing package (I choose the Decklink because it was one of the few cards that support Fusion). But even more annoying is that I've had to disable Windows updates as the drivers will not work with Windows 7 updates from April 2011 onwards. When tech support was contacted, they said they'd have to get a Windows system in to check out the problem.....& that was two months ago. Not happy. I'm thinking I might go back to AJA for my next card.

HD Extreme 3D makes life so much easier.

I recently purchased the Blackmagic Decklink HD Extreme 3D to replace an older Aja SD card and couldn't be happier with the results.
Installation was easy, and it automaticly worked with all my video & compositing software which includes over half a dozen packages.
Image quality is great.
I honestly couldn't be happier.
Excellent product!!!!

Q Decklink HD Extreme 3D I am interested in knowing how easy it is really to install? Are there any potential software issues or hardware problems? My usage, I hope to hook this up to an older DV deck right now but want the capability of outputting 3DHD in the future as I have animation editing software able to handle that. In a user review of 2011 the HD extreme 3D card had an alleged problem running Fusion, plus some error running Win 7 updates. I plan to use Fusion 6 on Win 7 64 have these possible issues resolved. As for the system it will go into i7 960, Gigabyte motherboard, 12 GB RAM, Nvidia GTX680 3x1TB Seagates in raid5 WIN 7 64 OS on 240GB SSD I have left off a possible audio card, does the Decklink card handle audio well or is it necessary to add one? Are there any recommended cards?. Thanks for any help with these questions. Drewblit
